Lateral Ligament (LCL) tear or strain

Lateral ligament injuries occur in a similar way to medial ligament injuries and also respond well to rest, physiotherapy and controlled exercises.
Surgery is only rarely required especially if the other supporting structures on the lateral side of the knee are damaged.
